Scam here in VA too. Guy going by name Charlie Reeves, claiming to be Microsoft Windows support tech called a friend saying his computer had been infected, offered to fix it. Friend allowed him to access it using LogMe In. Left the computer unable to rerstart due to missing/ corrupt HAL.dll file. I copied the file from another Dell, got computer to start in safe mode, discovered a chat session from the supposed MS technician. I'll do a thorough sweep of the computer tomorrow before connecting to net in case a "poison pill" was installed to enable later control of the machine.
Got a call from this number a few minutes ago. It was a middle eastern guy as Chico noted. I told they guy is was 9:30 and I get up early, why was he calling me so late. It didnt seem to phase him and he started some spill about Microsoft and my computer so I cut him off and ask where he got my number. He went on with something about Microsoft again and I told him to take me off the list. He then told me "your wasting my time, go frig yourself" and hung up on me, except it was a little more explicit then frig. I tried to call the number back that was listed on caller ID and it got a message that it was out of order. I looked up the number at the reverse lookup at anywho.com and it come back belonging to Donald F Gay.

This was the second call I received in two days. The first was from a woman saying something about my microsoft windows having a problem. I said I do not have a problem and hung up,.
The second call was from a Donald Gay according to my phone and he said the same thing and I told him he was crazy and to not call again. We will soon see.
