I actually answered, and they hung up.  Waiting for them to call again.
Give them a sob story about how I'm out of work and could use some help. Are they willing to help me?

I have given up on reporting these people people to the FEDS. They hide under the charity clause so they are not subject to the "do not call list."

I did not answer the call.I let the answering machine pick it up. Caller left no message. Using the info from the caller ID I returned the call only to receive a message that the number was disconnected with the disconnected tone playing in the background.

came up as "local call" left out the area code on our main phone. Called back and also got a message saying this phone number was disconnected. if it is disconnected than how do they keep calling our house. will not pick up.
