I tell all these professional fund raisers that I do not give to them. They give verylittle of the money to the charity if anything. Sometimes they say, "I understand" They call again in a few months and I tell them the same thing.
Here is the info for that charity that keeps calling you:
Childhood Leukemia Foundation
807 Mantoloking Road
Brick, New Jersey 08723
Phone:
1-888-CLF-7109
1-732-920-8860
I think if enough people called them and told them how you feel about their soliciting methods , it might do some good.
the staff is as follows:
Barb Estelle
Barb EstelleChief Operating Officer
Barb has been The Childhood Leukemia Foundation's Chief Operating Officer for 11 years. As COO, Barb supervises CLF's day-to-day financial operations and reports to the Executive Director. She is also responsible for managing the CLF team and for developing financial budgets to support CLF’s free programs and services. Barb keeps herself involved in almost every facet of the foundation, from financials and accounting, to fundraising and marketing. She recognizes the paramount importance of investing in innovation as well. Barb shares the founder's visions for CLF and believes that CLF’s ultimate strengths lies in the ability of its staff to brainstorm, create new ideas for growth and keep CLF on the cutting edge of modern trends. Says Barb, "What's most compelling to me is that we all make a difference, no matter what our job is. My job is especially rewarding because it directly effects the well being of children in need.”
Kim Wetmore
Kim WetmoreDirector of Development
As Director of Development, Kim organizes efforts to identify and obtain individual, corporate and foundation contributions throughout the United States. Kim develops initiatives that will increase CLF’s visibility and generate revenue to support the free programs and services CLF offers children fighting cancer. She actively recruits community organizations, radio stations, schools and private businesses to help deliver the CLF message. Kim is also responsible for applying for and securing grants and has had great success forging corporate partnerships with companies such as Nintendo, Build a Bear and Ronald McDonald House. Kim believes that while every day presents unique challenge, every day is also presents at least as many unique rewards. “We work as a team at CLF, we brainstorm. And we love being able to connect with these very deserving children.”
Kate Booth
Kate BoothProgram Services Coordinator
As Programs Services Coordinator, Kate's responsibilities are many. She manages the free programs and services offered by CLF and supplies information and resources to our growing network of social workers and Child Life Specialist. Kate manages CLF’s donor base and is responsible for proactively engaging our online community through our evolving social media presence. Kate's unwavering passion for the children she serves is obvious to callers too, as you will likely sense her smiling on the other end of your call. "We simply cannot say thank you enough. Says Kate. We are humbled everyday when speaking with families who have survived their battle with childhood cancer. These families are my heroes. I am just happy knowing that I have made their lives just a bit easier."
I believe many of these calls are simply harassing calls from debt collectors after they have squeezed every last dime out of you and 1099'd you for the rest. PATENAUDE & FELIX is a VERY aggressive, fast talking company who plays fast and loose with their version of the truth and will haunt you all day long. That may not be the problem for everyone, but I am alleging it is a problem for many.
Another bogus scammer claiming to be soliciting for Childhood "Leukemia Foundation" . Even IF they were really fundraising, they are a telemarketing firm & keep MOST of the donation. I will NEVER donate to a paid telemarketer!
