This number has called three times in a row with less than a second in between calls. I didn't recognize the number so I didn't answer, but based on the other comments I can assume it was a scam. No messages.
Foreign accented woman claiming to be from Microsoft technical support. Said she was getting reports from my computer that there were malicious viruses on my mother board and was just getting into the spiel when I said thank you, i'll be checking out this number to see if you are legit... end of call.
Called me when I was sleeping. Since it was time to get up anyway, I decided to entertain myself by playing along. They told me to hold the Windows icon button and R key at the same time. Then they asked me what happens. I then acted scared and told them the computer shut down. Told them I was rebooting. Same thing with windows and R button. I told them a skull and crossbones came up with a message. "I'm not an idiot and you're not scamming me" along with some other unkind words. They got mad and hung up on me.
Called and said they were from Microsoft and their servers were getting malicious malware from my computer. I hung up after telling them that I couldn't even understand what they were saying. They called back and I pressed for the location they were calling from and they said California. I asked them why my caller ID said Missouri Call.
What is intriguing is a computer message received less than one our earlier that popped up on my screen saying that my copy of windows was not a valid. I'm pretty sure it is valid as I've been using it for years. Connected or coincidence?
I forgot to ask "How did Microsoft get my home phone number?"
I did run malware bytes just to be on the safe side.
