I received a call from them stating that they were from Microsoft Windows and I almost gave them a check or credit card and I'm glad I hung up on them before that happened
call from this number stated they where from windows software in regards to my computer. being a retired tech. microsoft does not make calls to customer unless there is a registered problem. more than likely this was a probing call to log into your computer to gather private information. I hung up on them
They say Windows is reporting errors. They will get all fancy and have you got to the registry and have you look up a value and they will read it off to you. The value is the same for all windows PCs. They want to fix you computer for a fee. Basically looking to get your credit card info. Just tell them you don't have a window's computer and watch have fast they hang up on you.
Have called 3 days in a row. First day I answer and they said they were with Windows. When I said I don't have a computer he argued with me and said I have a laptop; which I don't. I then hung up. They have continued to call everyday since.
