I was at work and it freaked me out. I didn't wanna go to jail and he was telling me that I only had 30 mins. Sure I thought that it may be a scam but I was scared and didn't know what to do. He had my ss#.
I received the same call today. Message was from Steven Mason calling on behalf of "Headquarters Correction Department New York" I should call Eddie Brown and the Criminal and Justice Leagal Law Firm, at the same number you were told to call. I have reported both numbers to the FTC via the Do Not Call List
This POS with a heavy middle eastern accent called me today to state he was from the Dept of Corrections in New York and someone had filed criminal charges against me. He stated I had to pay 3000.00 or go to jail. He stated he had my social security number and employers information. He stated I had 30 minutes to pay the fine or I would be arrested at work. Once I started questioning him about the information he supposedly had, he became irate and started yelling and cursing at me. I refused to give him anything and told him I was reporting him and his POS middle eastern company to the FTC and the Do Not Call registry (which I did) and hung up the phone. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY MONEY! REPORT THIS POS to the FTC and the Do Not Call Registry! These jerks need to go down! Get the eff out of our country [***]!
They are not in the US. They are working in overseas boiler rooms in apathetic and corrupt third world countries using VOIP to alter their identities and locations.
I keep getting calls saying there are charges against me and when I tell him to quit calling that I know its a scam and I'm not giving him any money he gets mad and hands up.
