Got a call from this number. They said they were Federal government grants Dept and I was getting a $9000 grant. I asked him for verification he was from gov and he gave the phone to another heavy accented Indian and he just said if you don't believe me hang up. Guy said his name is Mark Smith... Really he could barely speak English.
I received the same thing and I know its scam from the first second however I was listen to the last second and let him believe that I believe him .... but my only concern since he asked me a few questions with answered yes or I do like do you have Walmart in you r area? do you use a car to go there ? as you noticed the answer they looking for "YES" , and "I DO" I m just wondering if they record my voice with theses answers and used them for some scams later
"How can crooks cause any damage if you didn't provide your credit card number or other info over the phone?
They have your phone number and you saying "yes," which is often all they need to get the phone provider to pass through third-party charges.
Plus, the crooks may have already gotten their hands on some of your personal information through some other type of data breach. For example, they may have your cable bill or credit card number -- and then when you dispute the charges, they can counter that they have your consent recorded."
a man called saying he was from the government i thought it was my finical aid or something thats why i answered and he didnt like he knew any english. he said that i had to call this other number.
