They don't need to farm numbers off of Craig's List. We don't have anything on CL but that doesn't stop the scam artists from calling. They simply use an auto dialer that goes through numbers one at a time. No special lists are required.
Call came to my mother's cell phone. She did not answer and they left no message. She also received a similar call from (240) 555-0112 today as well. Since there are no 555 exchanges in the North American Dialing Network, these numbers have to be spoofed. I told my mother not to answer any of those calls because they appear to be from a scammer of some sort.
I just got a call from1-315-555-0119 and it is operator assistance. The lady said she was not sure how I would receive a call from operator assistance, because they are not able to make outgoing calls. This is most likely a scam or telemarketing company had has hijacked the number.
