I've received several calls from this number within the last couple of days and they hang up as well. I was skeptical to call them back but decided to. A man answered and I asked him why is it that I've received calls and get hung up on when I answer. He replied that their calling system is on a timer and I must not have picked up the phone in time. He stated my name and I asked how he knew that. He said it was in their system because I had inquired about supplements. He asked if I was looking to lose weight and I told him I had already met my goal by diet and exercise. He proceeded to say "you don't want to lose 5-10 more pounds?" I replied no, that I was 2 pounds under my goal weight. He said he would put me in their 'do not call list'. Not sure if it's that easy to get them to stop but worth a shot. By the way, I'm not near my weight loss goal, but they don't know that!
It's a telemarketer/scammer. I don't know if they are actually connected with a caffeine extract pill I ordered a few months back, or if they just got my information from that company. They call multiple times a day--it's not always the same person. They never leave a message. I called back to tell them to stop calling and this is how the conversation went:
Scammer: Hi, Kathryn?
Me: Yeah.
Scammer: Hi, Kathryn?
Me: Yes, I understand this is a solicitation about a product I expressed some interest in in the past, but no longer have. Please stop calling.
Scammer: Then don't call this number or else you're automatically registered on our call list. Happy Holidays (*hangs up)
Me: Take my number off . . .
