Same recorded message as above. I've received several calls from this number over the last two weeks. I've only had my new number for about a month now. We know the IRS won't contact us by this means. I'm retired to boot. Scam!
I always let unknown caller numbers go to voice mail so that I have time to check whether or not it is a SCAM/PHISH call. I am so very grateful for postings already entered about this number as they confirm my suspicions. Only part of voice mail message was recorded re legal action and providing phone number to call back.
I received the same message and decided to call it back (laughs and giggles). After he went through his spiel about how much I owed and that if I settled now I can pay that amount (~6,000) or go to court and pay $15,000 plus my fine. I asked him if he liked to prey on the elderly or is he perhaps funding certain activities. When I told him I worked for the IRS and that I would go downstairs to resolve the issue, he started to laugh. He asked me if maybe I could help him out by sending him some money. I responded that I would have to check with my husband who works for the FBI... he hung up..
