I have been getting calls since Dec 10th, 2014 everyday until Dec 23rd and they stopped until Jan 2nd. then they started again thru Jan 27th. I just yesterday starting getting calls again. I'm really to the point of changing my number I have had for 18 years. The calls come to my employer also, very embarrassing. I have had the same job for 22 years. I did make the mistake of "inquiring" about a payday loan in 2007 and I have been told that is how the have all of my personal info. I have argued until I am blue in the face doesn't seem to help these low down dirty scumbags. I have filed a complaint with the NC Dept of Justice and filed an IC3 complaint just now. Does anybody have any suggestions on what I can do to finally put a stop to the nonsense. I am so over the scared part I know now it is in fact a scam, I am not at the point of being Pi**ed off!!
The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:
•is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
•refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
•asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
•exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.
If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:
•Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.•Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
•Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft – charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.
•Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate – but you think the collector may not be – contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
•Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.
They claimed to be trying to collect on a Payday Loan from 2013, a service I had never used at that time. When I called back to ask for the company name and address, they refused to give either to me. The only part I can understand when they answer their phone is it's something Pre-Trial services. I spoke with a Wanda and a Ted Davis that really didn't want to give me any information especially once I called them on their lie. Ted did however claim to be calling on behalf of a company called "Triple Financial Services", I've never heard of them as a payday loan company.

I received a call from 317-200-3258 stating an incorrect first name and correct last name for me. They said I needed to call 321-328-0503 about a Court Filing. If I didn't call back I would give up my right to have any say about what happened in court. I would need my Social Security Number ( RED FLAG ) and that I was officially notified. I went to "Google" and just as I suspected it is a SCAM.
Keep leaving message saying they are pursuing me Compliance Management Legal Division and that they will pursuing employment and address information. The caller states his name Greg Harris. They leave no information regarding who is owed or what the debt could be. Since I'm pretty sure I have no debts, I have not returned the call. I entered the number to find information on it and it appears its a scam. They leave this number for me to return a call 219-207-3467 case #73782
