I have gotten this one 3 times in the past week. No message left. I have not blocked it yet with our caller ID/Block, because I don't know what it is. I use a simple rule for calls like this. If we don't recognize the number, we don't answer. If they leave a message, we'll then decide whether to call back or block. We check all unknowns or nuisance messages out on 800notes, and then make a block or no block decision. I will keep checking back on 800notes on this number to see if anybody gets anything more on it. Another rule we use is for organizations we contribute to, but call way too much. We let them call and don't block, but we don't answer unless we are ready to donate. Sometimes they have students calling from numbers that don't identify with the institution, but you can tell where they are from by their area code and location. The only case that leaves is local organizations asking for donations/pickups of discarded goods. Sometimes people use their own phones to make those calls. Once in a while, we will take a chance on a call that looks like that so we can get rid of stuff. They typically don't leave messages. It would be better if they did, so we knew to answer the number on their next call.
I saw another message on 800notes that Panasonic now has cordless phones that can store 250 numbers to block. I verified that on Best Buy and Panasonic websites. That is good news. Our Panasonic blocks 30 numbers, and occasionally that requires scrubbing 10 or so numbers to make room for more recent calls to block. I will probably upgrade soon.
Got a call from this number today. Claimed to be FOP and that I had pledged $20. Began asking for credit card #. Scam scam scam! Caller ID says Charlottesvi IN.
