BTW, I made a blocked numbers list this morning, and discovered I had collected about 70 numbers, not counting the unknown, withheld, anonymous, and other "non-number" calls.
It is very easy to see the patterns in the calls, what numbers are being used, sequences and so forth.
A significant percentage shows up as originating in my area code. However, it turns out there are companies providing use of a number in any area code to telemarketers for as little as $2/mo.These companies brag about how their products and services are designed to be deceptive.
Read the two paragraphs below. It's obvious the "legitimate" company knows their customers are illegal telemarketers, and yet offer the services anyways. It's no different than a company that sells bath salts, they put labels saying Not for Human Consumption on the product, but they know that the customers are ingesting the bath salts to get high. Asked who she worked for and she said JB Associates and it was an independent company selling subscriptions. Said no, no, a thousand times no, and that I am on Do Not Call List.

Thanks for the link. For the past few weeks, I've been receiving phone calls from 609 area code, and the prefixes have been sequential: 609-615-XXXX, 609-617-XXXX, 609-618-XXXX, 606-621-XXXX, 609-622-XXXX, 609-623-XXXX, 609-624-XXXX, etc,
Yours is the first information I could find about how these numbers are acquired and used.
What a nuisance! The last four digits keep changing, and then the prefix changes, every couple of days, so there's no good way to report them.
