Tele Spam Do NOT Answer

This and other phones call are ridiculous especially when we are getting threatening calls from activist or thugs for trying to expose corruption in the state of Indiana, politics, predatory medical practices to rotten VA care. I have sent hard copy letters to law enforcement groups to Direct Marketing to please stop the daily calling. It's sad that we seniors are told to not give out debit card numbers over the phone but when the Indiana State Police and others call that is what they want. If you say no I'd rather not the callers seem to get agitated and continue on non-stop with their narratives and wants, and to heck with our health issues, problems, or not being allowed to nap or sleep during the day from sleepless nights.

Four groups in Indiana are supposedly allowed to keep calling us whether or not we have told them to stop. The laws need changed. Many calls or numbers are blocked and have no way to figure out why and where they come from many times. It's sad we have to endure the hackers, idiots, marketers, the greedy who already have it made in life to harass us lowly citizens for more money and perks. Not to forget the activist whose life surrounds bothering us tryting to do some good in the corrupt state and towns to expose corruption, predators, and etc.

Got a call at 8 p.m. on 1/11 from this number asking for the other person of the house. When I said they weren't available, I then asked if there was a message. The man quickly said "There is no message." When I then asked who this was and what this was about, he hung up the phone.

I tried calling back several times, and the line was busy.

I waited a few more minutes and called back and got a voicemail that offered, "Thank you for calling the fundraising center. No one is able to take your call at this time. For more options, press 9. I did and then selected the "no call" option.

Makes you wonder how people can get your number, even your private cell phone number, and find out your identity, and yet they are able to mask their own. If you're a legitimate business, you don't need to resort to tactics like this.

This number called a private cell phone of a family member and asked them if it was <my name>.  I have never used that cell phone number and it should not be associated with my name.  When they learned the person was a relative, they said they did not have a message and would try back later.  When the owner of the phone called number back, the message indicated it was a fundraising operation but did not specify for who or what organization.  This seems very suspicious, like data gathering on family members or something.  I would not answer calls from this number or give them any information about who they have reached.

Call came in on Cell Phone, recording asked to speak to "the head-of-household" - what is that?  I may not be the male in the family, but just because I'm a female - doesn't mean I'm not the head-of-household.  So I said, "yes."  It was a recording that responded to your answers. It was from the DAV - Disabled American Veterans.  "If we send you a notice, will you contribute to their program?  Usually they ask for a minimum of $35.00.  Everybody and their brother calls or sends sends requests for money.  We can't take care of all of them.   the DAV does not make this call once a year - but on a quarterly basis.
