I also received a text message from this number saying hello (my name)?????? I replied asking who it was and didn't receive another text from it, but I know the area code is in Indiana.
Just got a text from this person. Got the message from my actual cell number, which I don't give out to people - I use Google Voice. Whomever is doing this is either getting the data from my provider or from one of my friends on Facebook. Either way, it's garbage.
I think it is a crazy way to make money. Someone sends a text to you saying HI, you start searching the internet for the address or persons name. After some of you start going crazy wanting to know who this person is, you end up using one of those businesses that charges you .99 cents or so much per year to use their service and they say they will give you the address and name of the person. The person who sent the text to get things started gets a few pennies for every person who searches his phone number. It brings business to those types of internet businesses. Just a thought:)
