Got a call showing this number on caller ID. Claimed to be selling home security. I made a rude comment and hung up. My number is an unlisted cell phone.
The caller ID may be fake. The home security scam callers are often hard-core crooks, more interested in learning the weaknesses in your home than in selling you anything.
317-401-8246 just called me, left no message.
Of course I checked here for information!
I rarely think about your second comment, but you are absolutely correct. I need to keep that in mind as I get "security system" calls from time to time.
