I got a call on my cell phone with a computer generated message that my debit card has been put on hold. I just talked with my bank and they said it is a scam
This was an automated call that said my debit card was deactivated and it asked me to punch in my debit card number to reactivate it. I called my bank and confirmed that this was indeed a scam.
Both my cell phones got a call from this number teling me my debit card has been put on hold and that I should press the pound sign to talk with someone.
Same kind of call on cell phone, message said Visa debit card was on hold and to press 1 to talk to security department. Pressed 1 and it asked me to press 1 again to activate the debit card. This is when I hung up because I don't have a Visa debit card. Called the Credit card company I do have and they reported no activity.
