So, this morning I get awoken by a nervous call from an ex girlfriend's mother telling me I need to be ready to write down a name and phone number to call because this person contacted them claiming that my mother was hurt. Now, I find this confusing so I get in touch with my mom and she is okay. Then, I use the settings on my phone to block my number and proceed to call the number the ex's mom gave me. I asked who it was and she gave me her name Brenda Cross. I asked her if she worked for someone and she said she did. I asked her who and she wouldn't answer... I paused for a second and asked her again who she worked for and she told me that I was calling from a private number and to get back in touch when I wasn't afraid to be myself. She then called other members of my family with the same setup. The number link back to this company, LEVEL 3 COMMUNICATIONS, LLC - IN. These tactics of using someones family's well being as bait cannot be tolerated! It was quite scary both for the individuals who received the calls and myself. So the ex's mom calls the attorney general and tells them what is going on and then calls this Brenda Cross back. She gets a call back from "Brenda" who states she works for a company called Unified Processing. So far that's all the info I have. Seems like a scam

I got a message from this So called Brenda Cross just as well and yes they are a scam trying to recollect on debt already paid in full be it a car title loan or advance pay loan on your paycheck. Fair warning dont use Western sky loans or Zip19.com same company and they are the ones pulling these phone scams .
received call from a man, I did not allow him to give his name. His asks " There is an emergency and I am listed as the emergency contact for a distant family member. At first I didn't even recognize the name because he was pronouncing it wrong! I said "Who?" then he's say " are you telling me that you don't Nick Eal@#$?" at that point I shouted NO and hung up the phone. I hope that the person doesn't call back. It is likely a debt collector, but you didn't check his references before you gave him money or whatever; so don't start hassling me now.
Panicked guy calls looking for person known to me. Says there's an URGENT fraud case pending in TX and he needs to contact the person he called looking for! I ask doe details and he says he can't give them and I tell him he needs to tells Me more or he won't be able to find the person he's looking for. I also ask him why he thinks a person living in Va would have a fraud case pending NOW in TX? He says he didn't know.
I contacted the person he's looking for & provided the name & phone number. I suggested he call his lawyer (if he has one) and have him call the guy back!
