I received a call this morning from a Dean Marshall at JT Thomas and Associates, with a phone number from Indianapolis. He advised that legal action had been taken on me, and I needed to call him immediately back because it was an emergency.
After doing research on Google, and speaking to another law firm in Indianapolis, this is definitely a scam or some type of debt collection. I was advised to wait and see if they call again, and if so, the law firm would call on my behalf to determine who they were.
Be careful, and do not answer your phone. They will track your location and who knows what they are trying to accomplish.
I also have received a call from Dean Church at 317-602-7425 and after running that number, I found out that this is a huge scam and I turned it in to the proper authorities.
I also received a call from these people claiming they are not trying to collect money but do me a favor by warning me that charges will be filed for bank fraud and that jail time was 120 days to 6 months and it was an emergency that I had to contact them today or else. I wrote up a statement and reported them to the Federal Trade Commission and advise anyone else who is contacted by them to do the same.
I also contacted the Indiana State Bar Association and no one at their so called practice is a licensed attorney.
