yea I got the same message from the lady supposely for check fraud-- haha funny I never write checks so I am not sure what is she talking about. it is ussually people who wants to still your identity or maybe if she ever requested a pay advance that she did not pay. but is not an investigator is a collector
I got a message on my answering machine, 9/11/2012. Lady claimed she was Officer Scott. She knew my name and stated that she was looking for a friend of mine who was a suspect in check fraud. Again, she knew the name of my friend. The ladey stated that she was with Bexar County special investigations unit for Felony Check Fraud. She even provided a case number: QC3200. I thought it was strange that number was not a 210 area code. When I called back it went to a Magic Jack number and there was no voicemail. I called Bexar County the next day and provided the case number. Bexar County said there was no such case in civil court or federal. They also stated that an officer always provides a full name, leaves detailed information on how you get intouch with them and they don't give out cell numbers or home numbers! Number will always be an office number. Make a police report and flag your credit! I did.
I also had this issue and as much as the news seems to keep you alert. People still try to steal from others. After not recieving paper work I started to investigate it and to my surprise I was def scamed. This goes out to all they can get your credit report to get your info and search family and friends your connected with. If I thought to searched I wouldnt have been a victim. Google can pretty much give you every info possible and can answer every question.

I pray that nobody gets scammed as I did,if its sounds crazy take their number and investigate. I had the tools but due to what info they had I was a target. Its sad that we live in a world that is so evil that people can take from anyone to make a living. Well whats done in the dark will come to light, and karma is worse when the tables turn.
Thanks to people on here who posted this gave me eyes I needed to wake up and relize that this happened, I geuss it could of been worse. Have a blessed day and thx again
