Received a call from this number - Caller ID was "Ann Taylor." Let the call ring through to voice-mail. A man? left a garbled message about 1 second long. Called back, and no one picke up on the other side.
Rec'd call looking for a man when stated that he was my ex husband since 1992, the caller who did not disclose his name grunted "oh" and hung up. I called the number back to get them to take my name and number off of their contact list and the 2nd worker belittled me and spoke to me like I was a criminal. I am a 41 yr old with a PhD. He would not allow me the opportunity to request for the removal of my information either. He hung up. Called back a 3rd time and was threathened by a Mr. Miller who said he was with a "legal pursuiant company and I was hindering the law and what part of the 2 prior conversations didn't I understand." Needless to say, I am livid so he is what I learned today: This CRA is a collection agency NOT associated with anything legal and have MANY complaints against them through the FTC ( 1-877-382-4357) which regulates collection agencies. Please call them if you are unable to resolve issues. You can also call the Annoyance Call Beurea if you have AT&T and file a complaint. You can block your number with *67 and call the number back and ask for the compliance department and request removal from their account information.(They must honor this request because that is state law, I am told from AT&T) You can also place a freeze on your credit report so no one can open a line of credit without your authorization. Get a yearly free credit report so you can make sure no collection company has "attached" a claim to you, inadvertantly of course. All of these items were learned today, I am in no way a lawyer but I am a citizen that deserves not to be treated unfairly. Hope this helps someone.
Caller keeps asking for someone who is not associated with or has anything to do with my phone number. Keep promisimg to remove my number from their call list but calls keep coming. There is no caller ID, just the number 1-317-660-6103.
I got a call from 317-660-6137, some guy wanted to talk with my wife, used her maden name,said he was with CRA and was calling on behalf of the IRS, Big jerk, got irate and hung up. Called the number back got another guy, said he had filed a law suit then threaten to file a law suit and garnish wages at 25 %. told him to wend something in writting, said he had already and was not going to do it again, wouldnt give an address where the papers had been sent. Seems like Im not the only one getting harrased by this group.
These geniuses just called me from 317-660-6103. The girl asked me if I was Mr. ***. I asked what it was pertaining to. She said her supervisor wanted her to get me on the line immediately. I asked who the company was. She said "CRA". I asked what "CRA" was and she stated that her supervisor wanted her to get me on the line immediately. I told her that since she wouldn't tell me what it was about, that her supervisor most probably wouldn't either and that I would most likely end up hanging up on him.
This guy gets on the line and asks me to verify the last 4 digits of a social. I ask "what is this pertaining to?" He says, "please verify the last 4 digits". I said, "you can tell me what this is pertaining to or I can hang up, those are your options". He said "I don't have any options, Sir". I said "okay then, have a nice day" and hung up. These guys are two bit collectors who try to hide who they are. They can go screw.
