I just got a forward from a lady I know, she said she received a call regarding pending charges of mine from the state I live in. The message also said there was a warrant out for my arrest, b/c I have been ignoring the phone calls....I knew then it was a scam. first of all b/c we just got our taxes done and I know beyond a shadow of a doubt I owe ZIP-ZERO-NADA...STINKING SCAMMERS...GO GET A REAL JOB HOW SICK THAT....THANKS ALL OF YOU GUYS FOR SHARING!!! IT'S BEE VERY HELPFUL!!!
This caller claims to be from Hampton, Parks and Associates law firm. They claim to be pressing charges against the person they call for fraud they have committed. They continue by demanding payment via green dot pre-paid credit cards or jail time will be a consequence. These people are scammers.
Received a voicemail from Hampton Parks and Associates - stating I was a "Emergency Contact" for a person - who would NEVER use me as a contact. 317-671-7993
This is beginning to sound like a variation on a (scamming) theme: instead of telling you that YOU owe money and will be prosecuted, they claim you are a contact for someone else who is in (financial or other) trouble. They are probably doing this because most people would know if they themselves owe money, whereas you probably wouldn't know about a friend owing.
In your case, it's obvious because you know that person wouldn't list you as a contact. Other people might not be so quick to pick up on it. Thanks for your post.
I got a call today from 317-671-7993 from a person claiming to work for Hampton, Parks and Associates stating they were investigating a felony charge against a person and that my number, name, and address was linked to the case. I have no idea who the person is and I have no idea what area code 317 is. He asked me to confirm that I lived at that residence and when I said I didn't know the name he said he would take my number off the list?????
Same- A Daniel Fuller called, threatened me with jail time. Little do they know, im already a felon, and ive already done much time behind bars. Luckily, that was a long time ago- and all is well now. What i do know, is some random guy wouldnt be calling me if this were valid & true. Theyd be knocking on my door.
