This phone number has called us ridiculously too often. No one answers or leaves a message. We are on the no call list, so we shouldn't be getting these.
Mass dialer system for Indiana Veterans Relief. Called several times this week and no one there because someone picked up before me.
If you want to find out who they are and have some fun at the same time, do this:
If you don't have a GMAIL account, open one, it's free. Bottom left of the home screen is a phone icon. Click on that and a dialer pops up allowing you to make free phone calls anywhere in the US and Canada. The other person's caller ID will show a generic CA phone number when you call.
Enter the 317-802-7729 number. Odds are you'll get a busy signal. Repeatedly hit REDIAL each time. It may take several tries but you'll eventually get their mass dialer between calls. It'll ring and then you'll hear their system dialing someone's number. Start saying hello hello hello and one of the telemarketers will answer you asking if you're _____(fill in the blank of whomever they're calling). They never heard the incoming ring and you just intercepted one of their calls.
What you do now is up to you. Personally I asked them how much is going to the veterans. First two women told me 75% / 25%. Very sneaky making you think 75% is going to the veterans. When I asked to elaborate on which percentage went where, they were honest enough to say 25% went to the veterans! Give $100 bucks and the veterans only see $25 of it...nice huh?
Third lady told me they only keep the cost of shipping envelopes. When I pressed on as to what the cost of shipping is, she told me she didn't know. I then asked why two others told me only 25% goes to the charity...she got confused, told me she'll take me off their calling list and hung up.
Said they were collecting for the Indiana State Troopers Drug Aware program where they take kids to camp who are in shelters and homes with parents involved in drug activities and "try to get them before the bad people do".
Not getting any money here. Number is going on the do not answer list.
