$2.99 for 1 minutes from this number - billed alternately by Triton Global. Looks like a collect call / reverse call with is FRAUD. Did not receive a collect call nor called this number. By reading posts on Triton Global it really is unbelievable that a company can be authorized to steal money from people. k
I have a charge on my Shaw bill (British Columbia) which reads " Alternate Long Distance Provider - Triton Global $2.99 for 1 minute to this number. I did not call this number.
it is most likely a legitimate charge by a company named Triton Global. (third party billing)
Below is an explanation provided by Triton Global for these charges:
Customers dial a long distance number which has been changed and are then asked to press 1 to have the operator connect them to the directory assistance service to find the new number.
All customers are told the cost of connecting to directory assistance and are provided with a second disclosure option as they can also press 2 to listen to the rate of the service before pressing 1 option.
The callers are then forwarded to the operator to receive the new number if they press 1. The cost of this service is always disclosed upfront.
