Message left on my answering machine today at 5:21pm. Caller ID showed call came from 650-007-4999. Message said to call the IRS about an important legal matter and to call 318-295-9991. I called to see whether or not the call was for me, or for my deadbeat ex-boyfriend who moved out five years ago but still receives important mail at my address. The person who answered (from third world country and had heavy foreign accent) asked for me and proceeded to tell me that an audit was performed on my taxes from 2008 to 2014 and shows that I owe a significant amount of money and that, since I haven't answered their two letters that were sent to my house in July and September of this year, they are now suspending my driving privileges, going to seize my house and I am going to end up in jail. I repeatedly told them that I haven't received any letters, and that I need to see documentation showing errors that I allegedly made to my tax returns. He told me I owe $2,295.00 and need to pay it now. We argued, I told him that I would have my attorney contact them to discuss this further and demand proof of any monies I owe, and the [***] hung up on me. I did a google search of the 318# and now see that this is a scam. THANK GOODNESS. But I will alert my brother, who is a lawyer, about this call so he can alert his contacts in federal government, that this scam is still continuing. [***]!!
got a automated voice call today morning 23rd Nov'15 from 3182959991. The message was regards to an IRS lawsuit that is being filed against me. I called the number back. Some one called Ryan Clark - IRC60421 answered my call and told me I owe $5000 as tax defaulter for period 2008-2012.He told IRS audited it in 2014 and contacting me now 2015 for the tax default. He asked me if I am aware of that and did it purposefully. I told him that every year I pay the tax correctly and never be a defaulter. He informed me that the lawsuit cancel my Drivers license, bank accounts etc and the phone call was being recorded by the IRS and the Washington DC police. He also assured me nothing to worry and next week he will call me with the details. This is a IRS SCAM. I am sure next week he will call me and will ask for money.
Received same call, saying Final Notice, the I.R.S. has filed a law suit against me, but when I called them, I just got a fast busy sound, tried several more times no it says my call cant be completed at this time. Its so sad that there's so many scum bags in this world, that have nothing better to do then to try and rip people off
