today I got a call from this number but I did research and found that they were lying bc the direct buy number was very different from what the number that had called me was.
Got a call today from this number did a search and the only thing that came up was a FB page titled "STD Testing" so my reaction was WTH?!?!? So I call it back, it was a Telemarketing call selling some kind of plan. Please get this on the net to save some folks a heart attack ..... Like I got! This is just WRONG!!!
Just got a call from this number. They said my number had been drawn from Direct Buy for a $50,000 cash prize, and a $1000 gift card for any restaurant.
Your number was drawn for a CHANCE at winning that prize but only after you waste 2 or so hours of your time visiting their showroom while they try and hard sell you a membership in Direct Buy. They claim to be able to save you a lot of money on major remodeling projects by purchasing high end items through them but it's doubtful the average consumer would break even once the cost of membership is figured in much less save anything. If you have several $25 - 50K projects planned and are going high end on materials and appliances, etc, you might end up saving a little over the initial contract period. Anyway at the end of the presentation and hard sell, whether you sign up or not, you get to draw a key from a bowl. If the key unlocks the door, you win the big prize, if not you may get a $50 restaurant card to a chain restaurant. Odds are about 1 in 50,000 for the big prize so a winning key may not even be in the bowl in the showroom you visit as only one key per state per year is a winning key according to what a former employee posted in another Direct Buy thread on this site.
