I just got a call from this number a few minutes ago - 9:45 AM Pacific Daylight Time 04/01/2013. The pre-recorded message started off with "Please don't hang up" and proceeded to tell me that the call was from Discover Account Services and that I was eligible to lower the interest rate on my credit cards. I pressed "1" to be connected to an agent so I could ask to be removed. The woman whom I was transferred to told me that her company services more than Discover, they also service American Express, Visa, and MasterCard account. When I asked her to remove my number from her calling list, she asked me to lick her (expletive deleted - excrement orifice).
Clearly not a legitimate company and clearly another "Account Services" scam to get your credit card information for identity theft or fraudelent charges.
Thanks for the info. I get these ALL the time. In fact, they know me so well that when I answer they hang up. I give them a hard time every chance I get and these report them to the DO NOT CALL list....hoping it will do some good.
I have given up trying to stop these calls through the normal ways. I have actualy started accepting the calls and talking to someone about reducing my CC rate. I let them go on about how they can lower my interest. they confirm you have a CC, you have some debt, and then they say that because I am such a good customer they can lower my interest rate to less than 10%. I tell them my current CC interest rate is 3%. they hang up on me. I am hoping, if I do this enough, they will eventualy take me off their call list because I am a waste of "their time".
