I missed a call from this number, called the number back, and someone answered. They said this is Ricky, how may I help you? It was a Verizon cell phone number based in Monroe, LA. I don't think I know anyone there, so I told him I had the wrong number.
I received a phone call at approximately 5:20pm. I answered and the phone I thought lost reception, so I called it back. A lady answered and said she could verify by my number. Then she said can you verify your birthday. I did and she said my name then the last four of my social and proceeded to tell me she had my file pulled up,and i owed st. Francis, which I have never even been to. So I told her there was no way possible and I asked the date. She said I will mail the info to you and I asked her how is she going to do that when she hasn't verified my address. I said so can you do that? She got very rude and said no I can't goodbye. I then said no if you have a file then you can see dates and address and she said I don't have to tell you anything didn't you hear me goodbye and hung up in my face.
A very aggressive, presumably African American woman, repeatedly called about an alleged "unknown" debt. She refused to identify herself, as well as the company she works for, and what type of debt collection she was calling about. Not to mention, she became very defensive, rude, and combative when asked, "what was the nature of her business?"
I believe that this so called "company" she works for is a scam and one should not take their poor attempts of coercing money out of people seriously.
Any legitimate debt collection agency will state their business and why they are calling. The fact that this one doesn't reeks of low life con-artist tricks at best.
