Does anyone ever find it just a little bit suspicious that nobody (I assume) ever hears about anyone ever getting caught and prosecuted for these scam calls???? If it is true nobody ever gets prosecuted then is our govt. too busy; don't care; inept or what????????
on 8/29 at 5:07 pm a message was left on our answering machine. Automated female voice claimed call was from the Legal Affairs Dept. of the US Treasury. Stated that "a law enforcement tax action has been started on your name" and that "you or your retained attorney have 24 hours to appeal this matter." The callback number 240-324-6939 does not match the number on caller ID which was 319-555-0195 DIR ASST, IA.
Report the Calls to the real IRS here:
•report the incident to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration at 800-366-4484.
•You can also file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission at FTC.gov. Add "IRS Telephone Scam" to the comments in your complaint.

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.
Had a message left on my cell phone about law enforcement on tax collection has been started on my name. Just use common sense the IRS would not call you like this, they would send you a certified letter in the mail. Also this recording never mentions your name or any identification about you, trust me the IRS has all this info. Just get a good laugh and don't call them.

Caller with thick Indian (India) accent wanting me to get on my computer so he could help me fix errors. Played along with him for awhile and then cussed him up one side and down the other. They ought to prosecute and deport these [***].
I agree with Robert, these people could be found rather easily. They are the scum of society, praying on unsuspecting and trusting citizens. This is a landline near Des Moines. Ia. How tough could it be?
