Called the number back and an automated message instructed me to press '1' to have my number removed from there list after 48 business hours. I'm taking no chances so I'm blocking the creeps.
Rang. Answered. Recording. Offer for free home security system or free home security system installation. Stated for ALL Florida residents. KNEW MY COUNTY OF RESIDENTS?? Checking to see if authentic, scam and or fraud using phishing of telephone number of a legit company. Will check with county police to see if offer is legit. BEWARE: Scam in Texas would call homeowners about installing home security. (Resident didn't know the numer/call was made by phishing.) Personal information given out. By the time she caught on ... (no one showed up ...perhaps credit card chaged) ...she decided a home security system was not just a luxery but, a MUST. Only problem when they called ....she never knew who she was really talking to b/c of the phone number issue. The real (legit) company would call with their real phone number (to schedule appt or talk about price etc). But, the fruadulent people were STILL calling using/borrowing/stealing the phone number by phishing. It was a mess to straighten out and she never trusted who she was calling her. My suggestion. YOU CALL THEM back to schedule etc. Phishing does NOT work in reverse. THANK GOD!!
