Elderly client (Roseville MN) called to say they received a call from the IRS threatening action. The caller had a thick accent and also claimed they had sent the client a letter and was now following up with a call. When the client told the caller they were going to call their accountant the caller got upset and told them not to do so.
Left a message saying I had committed a federal crime and it would be in my best interest to cooperate with them or I would be called in front of a magistrate for federal charges. Advised me too call this number back.
Scam. Do not believe it. No government agency will make phone call to remind you of your offence. I'm wondering if this guy can still lead someone to believe it real? If you received an unwanted call, away check this site to validate the call.
damn people anything for a buck...last week we got a call from another Indian([***]) type telling us we had an issue with our Microsoft computer? funny we have a Mac? A friend of mine in Florida got scammed for over 400 dollars by the same type of person?
