I just received a call as well a few moments ago from the same number, and I let them get part way into their script before I began laughing. When I started to laugh, she stammered and said "this is no laughing matter" I stopped her and said, "the fact that I can barely understand you due to the massive amount of background noise and constant repetition of your script is a laughing matter." I then simply hung up.
Called and claimed to be the IRS. I asked what that acronym stood for (to weed out scammers) to which he replied the International Revenue Service (not the internal revenue service)! I laughed and told him that he better check his script again. He paused for a moment and then laughed and corrected his mistake. He then wanted me to provide my name. I mentioned that since he called me, had my phone number, and worked for our government that he should know my name. He claimed that the IRS relocated to India in 2011 and for that reason not all records had arrived overseas, yet. I laughed and said that I was unaware that our Internal Revenue Service was out sourced. He said that he knows that it is confusing but it is just one of several services that President Lincoln outsourced in 2011! Obviously a scam. Lol
