From December through January I was in contact with a man named Nana Amissah from a company Light Industrial in Ghana using the phone number 00233208169134 and email
[email protected].
Everything seemed genuine until it came time to pay the large sum of money for the quoted and ordered goods. He said his bank (which was in the USA and not Ghana) was having trouble doing a transfer and asked if he could send a cheque. He was very impatient and insisted that he needed the spares immediately to participate in an exhibition. I received via email a scanned bank warranty, company registration and import license. As we are aware of such scams we of course refused to ship any goods without receiving payment from this first time customer.
One day while reviewing the mails from Nana, I noticed a response at the bottom of a mail from another local company. I contacted this company who had the same situation months earlier; we confirmed this was indeed a scam.
Today I received a mail from another company that I was not familiar with and in a Google search of the company name found this website where numerous people had posted their scam experiences which stopped me from responding. That is why I am posting this in hope that it will save others the trouble of dealing with these time wasting scammers.
