If you pick up an unknown caller and there is no one answering, just keep hitting ##### and this is supposed to delete your number from their system. Don't know if it really works, but its worth a try. I get about 4-5 of these type calls daily even though I have registered with the do not call bureau.
I picked up — nothing on the other end. Silence. For twelve seconds and then "they" hung up.
I called the number and was told (by automated voice) that I had reached a non-working number.
What is the point of this kind of call? Is there anything they can glean from this interaction with me? That I, at least, exist?
I wanted to answer. I picked up, They Hung up. All you chumps that refuse to answer the phone if you do not know the number are missing out on amazing opportunities. Crawl out of your self centered shell. What's the worst that happens, You tell whoever, I don't have time, call back later, and block the number. It's easy. Quit being shelltered.
got a call picked up then it hung up, think they where checking to see it was a good number to put on a sales list... did a return call but it is a bad number just says i had miss dialed must have a answer machine at the other end.. think i will get more calls cos i answered it.. more careful next time.. me too
