Caller claimed to be a charitable organization targeting small businesses to sponsor their campaign. The ticket of admittance is $850, and there is a 50% discount if commitment is made the same day. In return, they will advertise your brand on their campaign material. Caller claimed that they will have 20,000 8.5x11 dry erase boards for distribution.
The campaign was for anti-bully message. Material shows they are associated with savethechildrenprogram.COM located in Florida.
It is worth noting that there is another similarly named web site, savethechildrenprogram.ORG, that is located in Connecticut, and is sponsored by many successful actresses.
The similarity of the program name may or may not be intentional, but certainly made me think that they are a scam trying to disguise themselves as legitimate charitable organization.
At best, this is classified as telemarketing (for a good cause). In the worst case, there are red flags that made me suspect a scam. I would not be surprised that once money is paid, nothing is circulated.
