The National DNC Registry DOES work.....on calls sourced WITHIN the U.S.; phone banks OUTSIDE the U.S., sadly, are for the moment.....untouchable. The "masked" phone banked calls are likely sourced from either Mexico, Jamaica or Canada. And tele-scamming isn't their ONLY means to snag you: They even get brazen ( if not stupid enough ) to use U.S. mail, sending you bogus fliers--where they give you some hotel address in neighboring metro city, and use enticements like "free vacation" and/or "free iPad / iPhone" door prizes.
I've attended one of these bogus brunches--where my wife and I met, by chance, a kind couple--who were undercover FBI; they also attend these bogus scam traps, hoping to have enough to raid the hotel.....which is owned by THE MAFIA!!
How are they allowed to operate? Well...sigh...they're slick in foreign phone bank purchasing, careful NOT to have such lead up to them. As for the bogus hotel bruch / phony real-estate sales pitch thing---it's NOT illegal to run a pitifully bad company that "strives hard" at being better. THAT is their actual excuse that successfully wriggles them out of Civil Court lawsuits.
called me about 5min ago...recorded message about winning a vacation for first 150 callers with the given authorization number. message doesn't mention the company name of course...that would be too easy to report!
