Pretty much the same what many are writing here. Breast Cancer--is that a company? Really? After female voice said my name, I tried to interrupt, stop the person from talking, because I don't donate money over the phone for years already--too many scams, misappropriated money, etc. Well, she wouldn't quit. I tried bad language, but she kept right on. It became clear that either she was brain dead, super desperate to keep her job, or simply that it was a recorded message, so I hung up the phone.
You can be nice, polite, but that will NOT get them to stop calling/bugging you. You can be rude; that might just work. Personally, I think I'm going to try the whistle to see how much they enjoy that. I've tried talking trash just to keep the person on the phone, and that seems to work, too, but you have to have some time available to waste while you're using up their time with useless talk.
I'll call the FTC/FCC with a list of so many numbers and NOTHING to show for it. I don't think they know what to do with all this b.s., and in fact, they may have no clue how to really stop it. Be proactive, take matters into your own hands, and try some of the suggestions that people on this forum suggest. They just might work for you, too. Take your time back, keep your money where you want it; JUST SAY 'NO' to telemarketers…and maybe they'll have to get a real job!
They called me today, but I did not answer. This number is now blocked. I get calls from this number several times a day. I don't answer. They have been calling me for over one year now.
now they call my cellphone.
They have called periodically and I told them I donate to my own causes and this woman is very persistant and rattles on. Finally had to tell her not to call anymore and I hung up on her.
