Caller to our company asked for Offc Mgr or Owner. Asked who is calling and all he said was "Jason", so I asked what company and he replied "Accounts Payable", so I asked again, what company and he replied "Collection Service." I told him hold on, but before the Office Manager could even consider taking the call, he hung up. Can't believe this is a legitimate collection service because our company works with our suppliers and none have ever used an outside collection service. Perhaps just phishing for info.
An agent from this collection agency called me to claim a debt that was not owed. Upon telling this agent it was a mistake, I owed no money, he became rude and argumentative and disrespectful. After hanging up, I contacted their client, who admitted and error and promised to correct it. This company does not do their research and is unprofessional.
Call blocker is your best bet. Also send them a cease and desist order. You can find templates on the net.
