They contacted me thru craigslist trying to purchase something via paypal to ship  to west africa SCAM!!!

I had the same experience.  They wanted to pay me $250 through paypal for a $100 laptop and then have me ship it to West Africa.  These scams are pretty common if you know what to look for.

My phone was on cl for 200 and was like I will pay 300 to your paypal so you can send to Africa I.can't.cause.I'm moving to Mexico. People are so.dumb

replied thru craigslist ad for phone offering a high amount begging to "help them out" by sending the phone to west africa today before he goes to Mexico for a business trip. Said he would send money thru paypal. SCAM.
