I lost 15k by buying RCI points (timeshares) from Avia West in Victoria, BC, who's agent made an oath that it is not a timeshares. In 2008, after many years, I finally managed to sell it with great loss. But my hopes to have finally quiet days from all these timeshare explorers were crushed by timeshare so called sellers. I keep having phone calls from them, sometimes even at 6 am, telling me how they will sell timeshares for me. RCI also keep calling me that I am due to pay the fees. No matter how many times I tell them to take me off the list they still don't care and keep calling. For people who think that timeshares are so great, I can tell you that you can get better deals if you look around than using timeshares and you're not hooked on annual fees for ever that includes your children when you pass away.
Claim I bought a vacation package 3 years ago and still owe for it though I didn't take it. They had a drawing at a hotel where veterans were staying and it was supposed to be a prize drawing. Many left name and address but didn't win. Have been harrassed ever since. First offered to have us pay about $200 to take it. Now they want $997.00. Threaten lawsuits. Have blocked their number but hey use another. Call all hours of the day. The vet is now dead. I am over 80. Cannot travel. Say they have our voice on recorder.
