they called myself and all my family from an unknown # saying I have a legal document that needs my signature that if i don't sign it it will be a "missed court appearance" that in order to stop them from showing up I had to "hire" them and call them at this 323 # . Couldn't understand they don't speak proper english. sounds likes a scam to me. A guy with foreign accent calls, not the first time. last time they called was with a different number and company name.
Not Michael is Not Smart. She asked how do I get them to stop calling my family and you said to install a call blocker and block the number. But if you read real articles written about collections or telemarketing, the only way to get them to stop is to call them. Install a blocker if you want to but it wont stop anything. here is what you do:
1.) CALL THEM....DON'T give them info, let them give you info.
2.) If it is a telemarketer: ask to be placed on a Do Not Call list if you are not interested
3.) If it is collections: find out what it is and make sure that it is something that YOU owe and not for someone else or a wrong telephone number. No collector wants to waste time calling a wrong number.
4.) If it is a telemarketer or collector and you are interested in their product or owe a debt, work out what you can with them. Whether it be a donation or a debt you owe.
Any further question, please let me know so that proper decisions can be made by you rather than these people just continuously calling from another number. Each telemarketer or collection agency owns a block of at least 100 numbers that can be used. A call blocker will not block that many numbers, so the calls will continue until you actually call them. Plus, I don't know about you, but I want to know what info anyone else has on me anyways. Do they have a SSN and DOB or is it just my name and telephone #. The more info they can give to you is better to prove the legitimacy or no legitimacy.
