I have received the same thing several times in the last 2 weeks.
We've got to remember when we sign up for things online or purchase things online, or enter contest online, where you have to set up a profile or something of that sorts, that we MUST UNCHECK the box that says something like "yes, contact me with other offers" or "yes contact me about other offers from our partners".
Normally I remember to uncheck all that crap. This time I must have missed one somewhere. But it does surprise me because when something asks for a phone number I usually put in (area code)000-0000. Most of the time that works. Or I'll use (area code)123-1234.
I would have only used my true number if it was a ligit site like Old Navy or Amazon, so they can contact me about orders.
I'm sure I'm getting these stupid texts because I forgot to uncheck a box somewhere. UGH!
Also, I would recommend you DO NOT reply back to these people. You never know if that "oks" them to keep calling you or now they see you've responded so they will keep it up. I would just report them to the FCC like others have said.
Good luck to all! I hope this stops!
