I have been tracking what appears to be an SMS (text) variant of the nigerian email scam from a person purporting to be a US citizen named Nicole Walter of Texas who is in Uganda for as a nurse with UNICEF. Over a period of the past three weeks, the subject has sent numerous pictures she claims to be of herself which tineye.com confirms are those of a "dawson miller." After considerable conversation, the scam started with requests for my full name and address (allegedly so that the subject could mail her paycheck to me for me to cash and remit). The next stage of the scam was to ask for money to mail the check (allegedly from Uganda). Requests for third-party verification (e.g references), current photographs, video chat on skype or other means to remove suspicion where met with broken english responses.
