Its a recording, shes not a real person, and she did the EXACT same thing to me. "Is Jonathan there?" I repleid "you have the wrong number" and she/it/computer said "Oh, well maybe you can help me" - That is an insult to my inteligence to have a computer call and interact with me. If your company wont even hire real employees, my donation is never going towards your president of your company taking a nice vacation!
I answered (because I have found if you listen to the recording sometimes there is an option to take your number off their list) and was surprised to have a live person talking to me. First, you can't put your cell phone number on a do not call list. Second, telemarketers are not allowed to call your cell using a live person- it is illegal. If you get a call on your cell and it is a recording, the FCC can't do anything about it. Third, if you *do* get a live caller, report them to the FCC right away. They can be prosecuted.
When I answered she asked for (a name my brother and my Dad both have) so I said, "It depends: are you looking for the one that passed away in 2009 or the one who lives in a different state? Either way, neither of them are at my cell phone right now." She then proceeded to ask for the 'Lady or man of the house'- I said, "that's me and how did you get this number? You are committing a crime and I will be reporting you." She hung up and when I tried to call back it is just a busy signal. I am reporting them.
