A lady named Naomi Anaya from the soon to air Corazon Radio in Los Angeles California called 6:30 PM requesting to speak to my wife. Questions were asked as to what type of music she liked in regards to a new radio station featuring Spanish Language music. First several questions were to establish the language preferred during the interview. Odd as this is a spanish language radio station and my wife, a spanish speaker, answered the phone in spanish.
After answering the questions of the music, the lady asked for 10 numbers of her friends, and for these numbers my wife will receive a T-shirt, Cap (both with station logo), a Sony Digital Camera and a laptop. Quite a bit of thanks for 10 numbers in my opinion.
When asked by my wife as to how they obtained her number, the lady responded they have a database of hispanic people living in the United States. Quite odd of a response if they are also soliciting numbers as well.
The question now is how robust is this database? how many people are in this database, what type of information other than name and phone number is also in this database? and how did they obtain this information?
The quick answer is they paid a company to comb through other databases filled by 'contest' entry forms.
