Same thing happened to me although they were calling from Advanced Tech Support to whom which I recently did purchase services. Naturally I knew a company would never call me to ask to remote into my computer to pay refund money. Yeah, right. PLEASE BE AWARE!
Just to let you know that the scam artists have changed it up a bit. I got a call telling me that it was the "Windows Tech. Dept. on the line (514-871-8474 at 1:38 pm) and they wanted to refund a purchase I have made for 199.00$. I played dumb a little and told them that I couldn't turn on my computer because I had to go out. Before leaving I got a number to call them back if I wanted the refund and that they would also call me back tomorrow at 8pm. Which company in their right mind would ever be willing to refund money to you and be willing to call you back so that they could refund you. The funny thing is that I never made a purchase to Windows. And tomorrow when they call I will say to send a check to ??? Don't want to give them my address so which address do I use. Wondering what they will say because to get money back we don't need to turn on computers just send the check by mail. BTW the number they gave me to call back was 1-323-300-5202. Just wanted you guy to know.
