I didn't answer because it was out of area code for my local business. Then.. I called it, got a recording about paying lower rates for car insurance - saying if you want to be off the call list to press #?? ... so I did.
One hour later, they called twice... what idiots. Anyway, don't answer it. It's telemarketers.
Just picked up my cell phone - it was a robo call. I hung up and called back - got a recording that said to press 1 for a car insurance quote or 3 to be removed from their list. Hopefully they don't actually call back. The original recording says something about the DMV and that my records show I'm overpaying for insurance. It's hogwash.
Insurance telemarketers. I'm not sure if this is the case with telephones, but email spammers use the unsubscribe feature to confirm they're contacting an active email address. Usually the spam volume grows, since they know there is someone reading and responding.
