I answered and they asked for someone named "Dean", I said wrong number but then the lady said "oh, well maybe you can still help". I said nope nope nope and hung up. Added to auto reject list.
Doesn't matter if you're Jan, or Dean, rarely will you find a cold calling charity that'll balk at the chance to steal your money, if not more. No such thing as a "wrong number", and breast cancer solicitors appear to be the most frequent users of the "maybe you can help" phrase. Hanging up as soon as they ask for the wrong person may be the best way to go rather than letting them spew their famous line.
Oh the Breast Cancer scam calls are the worst, as their fundraisers use every deceptive misuse of charity names that you have no idea which group of thieves you're talking to. I've personally been contacted by these thieves https://www.sos.wa.gov/charities/search_detail_cfr.aspx?cfr_id=28464 "Outsource Calling" using California numbers. Yep, sounds like some generic name doesn't it? They're deceptive business acts and practices!
