They called my mother saying there was an investigation on my ss# about a bill i payed off two years ago n were going to issue a bench warent for my arrest ..I told them i received an email confirmation of my payment n that was end of phone call ..is this a scam ?

They called my mother say I owed money on kays account they will press charges. Which I did owe so I brought the money to the bank to pay like an idiot! Then I looked up my credit and called the account that owns my debt and it was not them. So I screwed myself . Her name was karen davis at sterling and roths [***]. 414 ext. Is this a scam?
