A man called for this number asking for my husband, then for 3 nights in a row they called again and last night it was a British lady saying they were a "non-profit" contracted by Red Cross asking for Haiti relief. Would only except a credit card number by phone. We believe it was a scam because nobody would only except a CC by phone. We said we would go to Red Cross website and they said that wasn't what they were looking for.
Okay, let's say it is Mercy Corp, that's what shows on my caller ID. Are they allowed to call if you are on the federal no-call list? I thought only politically related calls or organizations I have requested could call me. Of course the scammers know many people won't raise a fuss if they call them. I will.
